the corridor I is a site-specific installation of a single-slide projection. The slide of a landscape is being projected on a marble surface in a historic space (Aula of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Austria), creating a multilayered reference to the romantic tradition of landscape painting itself as well as to the historical paintings in the space itself. The material surface changes the immaterial image into a mural. The slide is projected from a side, allowing the visitor to see the image vis-a-vis, from the front, and therefore creating an illusion of continuing space, again, in a very painterly manner.
